Days at Sea Oct 25-26th

The first two full days of our cruise were at sea. We had to sail from Cape Canaveral to the Island of St. Martin. We basically just let Henry play and get accustom to the time change and tried to get him on some kind of a schedule. We spent a lot of time in the splash pad, which was small. They only have six water jets and one Mickey Fantasia hat, but they had a crew member keeping the bigger kids out. They also supplied toys the kids could play with. So, it was crowded, but not too bad.

In addition to the splash pad, we went to the play area (Oceaneers Club) and let Henry play there. It was a REALLY nice area. That is one thing that Disney did really well, they have a lot of separate areas for all the different age groups for the kids. They In addition to all the play equipment, the had a room full of computer games and a library. Plus a stage where the Characters made appearances. Henry had a lot of fun exploring, but made his way to the books, which were probably his favorite thing.

We also did a lot of exploring on the boat. We were, after all, stuck on the boat for two full days. What else were we supposed to do? We ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch and enjoyed dinner at the different restaurants. How Disney works dinner is they have three different dining rooms and you and your servers rotate through them. It is nice because they each have different themes. The second night on the ship (Sunday) was formal night. We all got dressed up for dinner. We bought Henry a little vest and tie for the occasion. He had a little fit at first because we never button his top button. Not only did we have to button his top button, we clipped a tie onto it...how dare we. But after we distracted him, he forgot all about it and took some cute pictures!


The only bad thing about having the first two days at sea is that everyone is all ready for vacation and no one stays in their room. This means that everything seems crowded because everyone is out and about. We got a Veranda room to help with the fact that we didn't want to be around people all the time (and the fact that Henry is still taking two naps a day and we would have to be in the room for those times). I definitely thought it was worth it, even though we didn't sit out on it too much.
