Sunday dinners, lost tooth and the rest of August

Sushi Go Round
August flew by in a flash!  Lots of little activites, plus trying to actually get into the routine of everything.  My big project for the month was to clean all the grout in my house...all 3000 square feet of it.  It took about 2 weeks to complete, but it all looks much better.  The weather has been pretty crazy.  Lots of dust storms and some rain...which is not too abnormal for August, but we seem to be having a storm every week.

We also started what we now call Sunday Dinner. Where we take the kids out to dinner on Sunday nights.  It has worked really well thus far.  The kids have been really well behaved and they seem to be enjoying the opportunity to eat out at restaurants.  So far, we have gone to a Sushi go round, which we already knew that the kids liked.  This was actually the first restaurant we went to and it was Henry's Choice.  The second week we went to our favorite Indian restaurant.  The kids tasted everything, but they loved the fried cheese squares (which were identical to a McDonald's chicken nugget in texture and flavor), and the Tandoori Chicken.  Jillian loves her chicken.  The next week we went out for Calzones...yum...Jillian just did Cheese and Henry did Pepperoni and Pineapple.  It was pretty tasty.  Last weekend we took them to an 'authentic' Italian place called Rigatoni's.  Jillian got spaghetti and red sauce and Henry did Raviolis. The kids really enjoyed that too.  I am so glad that my kids are willing to eat different foods.
First lost tooth.

Jillian also has not lost two teeth.  The first on towards the beginning of the month and the second about a week later.  She is getting to be such a big girl.   The kids are also doing very well in school.  Both have adjusted to their new class and we have Parent Teacher conferences this week.  Hopefully we get a good report on both kids.   Jillian also decided that she was going to try cheer/dance class.  It works out great for me because one day a week and don't have to rush from her school to Henry's to pick him up.  It is crazy that their school schedules are basically identical since they specifically ship the gifted kids from all the surrounding schools to his. You would think that they would off set them so the surrounding school get out at one time and then his school gets out later (or earlier) for those of us parents who have kids at more than one school.

The puppies are doing well.  They are now 1 year old!  They have stopped chewing on everything, but love when the kids leave their stuff on the ground for them to chew.  Unfortunately, the kids are still not as diligent as they should be with making sure everything is picked up.  I am hoping that one day they will pick up after themselves...

September is going to be a busy month as well.  My bother is coming to town, Andrew and I are going to Vegas, plus we are going to be getting ready for our trip to Bermuda in October for fall break.
